Porkalam Movie free download

High-contrast tones, slow-motioned visuals, an astounding background with some breathtaking action sequences. What happens when these aspects are prevalently spotted in a film? A grandiose visual treat, isn’t? But what could be the ultimate results when they turn to be abnormally excessive.

Ever heard about a famous proverb – TOO MUCH IS TOO BAD….

Undoubtedly, ‘Porkalam’ takes on the stand of proving it. It’s nice to experience something different over the visuals with dark contrast visuals with slow motioned effects. But as things get repeated, it throws a big resentment from the audiences.

Debutant Bandi Saroj seems to have bombastically blended clichéd moments in the film.

Indeed, there’s nothing special to mention about the synopsis, Snegha (Smitha), a girl from Lanka (a farthest remote district of Andhra Pradesh) is rushing towards for Chennai. With a sorcerer (Teen Anand) insisting a goon (Sampath) to marry her, she has no other option to get herself rescued. Meanwhile, we’re introduced to Karnan (Kishore Kumar), a rough-n-tough man who becomes an overnight hero after a suicide attempt that barges a ruffian behind bars. Later as Snegha steps into Chennai, she takes refuge under Karnan and his cook Sathya (Sathyan).

Sooner, the terrific Telugu speaking Andhra guys make their way into Chennai. Meanwhile, unable to accept Snegha’s love, Karnan leaves her under the charge of a police so as to find her real identity and secure her safety.

When Sathya looses out his patience for Karnan’s hostility, we are exposed to an unbelievable truth that Karnan is a blind person right from his childhood.

Can he save his ladylove back in Lanka as a one-man army? Watch the rest on screens.

The film proceeds well till the first half and post-intermission sequences are completely dragging. Kishore does justice to his role and newcomer Smitha takes on with her decent efforts. Rest of the star-casts mentioned above in list has done a remarkable job and Biju Menon surpasses with his minimal role as a cop.

Background score enhances the visual quality while the filmmaker has been much inspired from Ram Gopal Varma. Most of the shots are seemingly lifted from his flicks. But lots of fade-in-and-out edits really makes us impatient.

The director should work more on penning powerful scripts. This cannot be adjudged as a best film, but not either. Maybe, he’ll gain more maturity on this factor. The cinematographers can keep their fingers crossed as they’ll be the most wanted technicians in tinsel town.

What works: Cinematography, some interesting moments in first half, Sathyan, Biju Menon

What didn’t work: Overuse of same plug-ins in editing, unsubstantial script, weaker screenplay in second half and dragging climax.

Verdict: Bandi Saroj Kumar – Better Luck next time…
